Got a job at a Thai company! Sharing work permit and business visa
Received the invitation letter from a Thai company! To work legally in Thailand, you need two things: a Non-B business visa and a Work Permit. The business visa is the qualification to enter Thailand, and the work permit is the legal proof to work within Thailand. Many people confuse these two. When I got a job opportunity at a listed Thai company, my process was: 1. The company prepared the relevant documents (company invitation letter, related documents from the Thai Ministry of Labor) and sent them directly to me in Taiwan. 2. I was responsible for going to the Thai office in Taipei to apply for the visa. The waiting time was much longer than expected. It is recommended to go early in the morning to queue; otherwise, half a day will be gone. But it can be completed on the same day. 3. After arriving in Thailand, the HR usually assists with the work permit application. Now, One Bangkok in Bangkok has a service window, which is fast and has a good environment. If any company document has an incorrect format or lacks certification, you have to go back and forth to supplement, which is quite troublesome. To apply for a Non-B business visa in Taiwan, you need to prepare: 1. Original passport (valid for more than six months) 2. Copy of ID card or passport 3. Two-inch white background photos (recommended 2-4 copies) 4. Company invitation letter and related documents from the Thai Ministry of Labor (sent from Thailand) 5. Original and copy of academic certificates For a detailed list of documents, please refer to the official website of the Thai Trade and Economic Office (Taipei). After arriving in Thailand, remember to ask the company to assist in applying for the work permit before the 90-day Non-B business visa expires. If the company delays for any reason, be cautious. Illegal work will result in deportation!!
