Why did I start learning Thai? The motivation and original intention for learning Thai

Detail topic

I want to share some methods for learning Thai and articles related to the Thai language proficiency test. Let's start by talking about why I wanted to learn Thai. It all began when a friend introduced me to Thai BL dramas. I remember it was 2019. Because my job was too boring at the time, a friend recommended Thai BL dramas to me, and that opened the door to Thailand for me. In a short time, I watched two or three dramas, attended a fan meeting in Taiwan, and even made a quick trip to Thailand to attend an event. Of course, I was very happy at the event, but at that time, there were very few Chinese or English translations at Thai events, so I could only use my eyes and camera to record everything carefully. Once, I was even called on stage to interact, but the artist's English was not good, so we just stared at each other on stage XD All of this sparked my desire to learn Thai. After the 2020 New Year, my friend and I signed up for Thai classes. I used to like Japanese and Korean idols but never seriously studied Japanese or Korean. At first, I just wanted it as a pastime after work, and having a companion to learn with was more motivating — but unexpectedly, I have been learning for six years. Now, I can understand 80-90% at events, speak Thai with my favorite artists, and have made many Thai friends. This is a scene I never imagined six years ago. As for the learning process and content related to the Thai language proficiency test, I will share more slowly later. I'm also curious to know, why do you want to learn Thai?
